The change in tone is night and day from the Joe Biden administration to the Donald Trump administration. Biden refused to talk with Russia President Vladimir. At the same time, Biden escalated US efforts against Russia, including in the Ukraine War. Trump, in contrast, ran for president proclaiming his desire to end the Ukraine War promptly and Wednesday morning posted at Truth Social a recounting of a conversation he had just completed with Putin. That post by Trump is bursting with optimism about negotiating to soon end the war, as well as with kind comments regarding Putin and Russia.
President Joe Biden has stood out among United States presidents in his refusal for years to talk with the leader of the Russia government. This refusal to talk with Russia President Vladimir Putin has been particularly precarious because over the same time period the US has been delivering large quantities of money, weapons, and intelligence to Ukraine to prop up a military effort against Russia that threatens to spiral into a third world war.

When Vladimir Putin Was Pootie-Poot
United Sates President Joe Biden has spent most of his presidency refusing to talk with Russia President Vladimir Putin. This is despite — or maybe because of — the fact that such discourse could have led to an agreement ending the US government’s proxy war against Russia.
War fever was running high in America, and especially among Republicans, on October 10, 2002. That is when the United States House of Representatives voted on H.J.Res. 114, a resolution sponsored by House Speaker Dennis J. Hastert and demanded by President George W. Bush — both Republicans. The resolution would authorize the US to use military force against Iraq.
Forget about stopping the purported evil despot Vladimir Putin intent on taking over all of Europe and maybe the rest of the world. Forget about helping — try to keep a straight face on this one — the democracy and freedom supporting nation of Ukraine. United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken was out last week promoting a new reason to continue supporting the Ukraine War — ensuring there are more American jobs in the military-industrial complex.
On Friday, the shows of Scott Ritter were booted from YouTube. Ritter had been in the shows communicating regarding the Ukraine War in a manner at odds with the narrative pushed by the United States government and big money media. In a Friday post relating this development, I concluded by stating “Hopefully, YouTube’s censorship is just a bump in the road and soon Ritter can be sharing his ideas as well as or even better than before.”
It is too soon to know if that hope will be fulfilled as it is a big blow to be deplatformed from one of the most visited social media websites. But, Ritter was back this week with a video announcement that his shows may be found at Rumble, a competitor of YouTube.
Scott Ritter has been a go-to source for information about what has really been happening in the Ukraine War, instead of the spin from the big money media and United States government officials. He has also been a very vocal critic of US government support for the Ukraine government throughout the war.
Thus, it is sadly not a surprise that on Friday Google-owned YouTube deplatformed two shows through which Ritter has been sharing his views. YouTube is no friend of people who challenge US foreign intervention.
A nation’s leader just wanting his nation to stay neutral regarding a war undertaken against another nation by the United States government can set in motion a US government effort to boot that leader from office. A previously secret Pakistan government document disclosed in a Wednesday in-depth The Intercept article suggests that such a removal effort is just what the US government successfully accomplished in Pakistan in the early days of the Ukraine War.
On February 8, I wrote about indications that Donald Trump may run as the peace candidate in the 2024 Republican presidential primary. Concluding, I commented, “We’ll see if Trump follows through with this campaign strategy.” This week, the Trump campaign released a new video of Trump speaking about matters related to war and peace. The video indicates that Trump is indeed following through on that peace candidate campaign strategy.
