Marching into Colombia

In January, with the United States military having just attacked Venezuela and rushed off the South American nation’s president to incarceration in the US all in the name of fighting drugs, I warned that US President Donald Trump may soon use the same excuse to sic the US military on two more Latin American nations — Colombia and Mexico. Concerning Colombia, I noted that Trump was already threatening then Colombia President Gustavo Petro and launching allegations against him, saying he “has ‘got to watch his ass’ while accusing him of making cocaine and sending it into America.”

Senate Republicans are Reluctant to Give the Military a Bunch More Money

It has often seemed like there is no limit to how much money congressional Republicans are willing to shove into the United States military. But, conditions in America are making it seem less a sure proposition that Senate Republicans will soon be following through on the big military spending demands coming from President Donald Trump.

Will Flávio Bolsonaro become the Fourth Amigo?

On Saturday, Flávio Bolsonaro officially launched his campaign to become president of Brazil. If he wins the race, Bolsonaro will succeed Brazil President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva who succeeded Bolsonaro’s father in the positiocampaignn three and a half years ago. Bolsonaro’s campaign event suggested that, should he win, he will join with the three “best buds” Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, United States President Donald Trump, and Argentina President Javier Milei who are united by devotion to the Israel government and its US-backed wars.

Rejecting Corporatism

In his column last week, Ron Paul discussed the threat in America from corporatism, “where power remains nominally in private hands but the government gains significant control.” Movement toward corporatism, Paul’s editorial asserted, is evidenced by the United States government during the administration of President Donald Trump proceeding to amass ownership interests in a growing list of companies. Paul judged this policy pursued by Trump as “dangerous to liberty and prosperity.”

The Number of People Visiting America Continues to Decline

In February, I wrote about America standing alone among major destinations across the world for having a drop in foreign visitors in 2025, with President Donald Trump appearing to have played a significant role in discouraging travelers from spending time in America.

While President Trump Touts Stock Market Gain, Most Americans Feel Economic Pain

President Donald Trump can’t stop talking about, in his showy salesman style, how well the stock market has done during his second presidential term, using the rising tickers for indexes such as the Dow, S&P 500, and NASDAQ as stand-ins for a good economy. But, unfortunately for Trump’s popularity and potentially for Republican candidates who are seen as bearing responsibility with him for the state of the American economy, most Americans see the economic situation as bad and worsening despite any stock market gains.

Waiting for Kei Truck Freedom

In April of 2024, I wrote about the Texas government opening up roads in the state to mini vehicles often referred to as kei trucks or kei cars. Then, in December of last year, President Donald Trump gained attention with his expression of support for these “tiny cars” like those common in Japan being made in and driven around America.

Is Another Moderna mRNA Dud on the Way?

Remember Moderna? It is one of the United States government preferred companies that made big money off the vehement push for virtually every person in America to take their experimental coronavirus “vaccine” shots promoted under the deceptive description of “safe and effective.”

House Majority Leader Insists the Price of Gas is Low

In his February 24 State of the Union Speech, United States President Donald Trump claimed gas prices in America were much lower than they actually were. This was part of Trump’s effort to claim credit for an asserted vastly improved economy. Several days later, the war against Iran, which Trump started along with the Israel government, resulted in gas prices shooting up further.

Best Buds: Milei, Netanyahu, and Trump

When Javier Milei won election to the presidency of Argentina in November of 2023, I wrote that he was acting to “move forward enthusiastically in his support of the United States government and the wars of Ukraine and Israel.” Israel, I further noted, “is a nation upon which he has heaped praise and whose new war he supports steadfastly, just as do top US political leaders.”
