George Washington University Law School Professor Jonathan Turley provides in his new editorial at The Messenger an informed rebuke of the Colorado Supreme Court’s Tuesday ruling barring the name of Donald Trump, the far ahead leader in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, from the Republican primary ballot in Colorado and even preventing the counting of write-in votes for him in the state. In reaching its decision, Turley assesses that “the Colorado Supreme Court steered off the constitutional map” and “put this country on one of the most dangerous paths in its history.”
On Thursday, 68 journalists in the White House press corps sent a contentious letter to White House Press Secretary Karine Jeane-Pierre complaining about new means the Joe Biden administration, in contrast with previous presidential administrations, has been employing to limit and control journalists’ access to the president.
Mexico President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has distinguished himself among top national political leaders across the world by not freaking out over coronavirus. Instead, López Obrador has gone his own way with actions including choosing to usually not wear a mask and criticizing other nations’ political leaders for “acting like dictators” in their imposing of coronavirus-related mandates.
Now comes news of López Obrador again going directly against the worldwide coronavirus political tide. He decided not to take one of the experimental coronavirus vaccines.
When students at two prominent Texas state government universities — the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M — return to the universities’ campuses in the fall semester, after being booted in the spring semester due to purported worries about coronavirus, they will find the experience much different than it has been in years past. To put it simply, new rules imposed in the name of countering coronavirus will make being a student at these universities suckier.
Take, for example, new mask mandates announced by the presidents of both universities this week.
After completing six terms in the United States House of Representatives as a Democrat from Georgia, Cynthia McKinney was the 2008 Green Party nominee for president of the United States. In a Friday letter, McKinney announced her endorsement of Adam Kokesh for the 2020 Libertarian Party presidential nomination.
You might hope that at least the United States Libertarian Party could be counted on not to support the US government’s effort to install its chosen politician as president of Venezuela. Oh well. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Earlier this month, a “Dear Libertarian” letter from party chairman Nicholas Sarwark appeared on the Libertarian Party’s website in which Sarwark promotes viewing a video by Kyle Varner — described by Sarwark as a party member — in which Varner delivers the US government’s regime change line in regard to the South America country.

Jacob Hornberger for President?
Jacob Hornberger appears to be laying the groundwork for a 2020 presidential run as a Libertarian. That is the subject of a Monday article at Independent Political Report that notes Hornberger, who is the president of the libertarian Future of Freedom Foundation (FFF), “is visiting many, if not all, the Libertarian Party state conventions” and has produced a new website jacobforliberty.com. That website looks like a campaign website, though it does not outright declare Hornberger is running for office.
