Will Flávio Bolsonaro become the Fourth Amigo?

On Saturday, Flávio Bolsonaro officially launched his campaign to become president of Brazil. If he wins the race, Bolsonaro will succeed Brazil President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva who succeeded Bolsonaro’s father in the positiocampaignn three and a half years ago. Bolsonaro’s campaign event suggested that, should he win, he will join with the three “best buds” Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, United States President Donald Trump, and Argentina President Javier Milei who are united by devotion to the Israel government and its US-backed wars.

After Decades of Working to Impoverish the Cuban People, the US Government Provides Some Token Aid

Since soon after United States-aligned Cuba President Fulgencio Batista fled Cuba in 1959, the US government has been working to manufacture the establishment of a new Cuba government subservient to the US government. At the same time the US government has also been working to impoverish the people of Cuba.

Good Enough for Government Work: The US Military’s Shoddy Target Selection at the Start of the Iran War

The Iran War started off at the end of February with a massive joint bombardment by the United States and Israel militaries of targets in Iran. War with Iran had been in planning in the US military since Iranians rose up nearly 50 years earlier to throw out the US lackeys who had been running things there since the US-supported overthrow of the Iranian elected government in 1953.

Waiting for Kei Truck Freedom

In April of 2024, I wrote about the Texas government opening up roads in the state to mini vehicles often referred to as kei trucks or kei cars. Then, in December of last year, President Donald Trump gained attention with his expression of support for these “tiny cars” like those common in Japan being made in and driven around America.

Big Victory for Gun and Drug Rights

On Thursday, the justices of the United States Supreme Court unanimously concluded in deciding the case of United States v. Hemani that the US government violates the Second Amendment of the Constitution in enforcing a prohibition on people owning or possessing guns merely because those individuals also use marijuana. Further, the reasoning of the decision suggests that the court may similarly throw out such denials of respect for the right to own or possess guns in regard to people who use at least some of the other drugs subject to the US government’s drug prohibition.

Disliking Israel, a Popular Opinion across the World

The Israel government has done a lot to earn dislike through bringing death and destruction on a vast scale. People are seeing Israel’s attacks in the last few years on Gaza, Lebanon, Iran, and beyond as using destructive force that is not just defensive and focused on military targets. General annihilation is seen as a clear objective.

House Votes to Terminate Iran War, While Preparing to Vote to Ramp Up the Ukraine War

On May 25, I wrote about how the Republican leadership of the United States House of Representatives had put off until the House would return from recess in June a vote on ending the Iran War. It had appeared that the war termination resolution would win a majority vote on the House floor

Blowing Up Small Boats for Naught

On Thursday, I wrote about the United States military’s continuing campaign of blowing up small boats, and killing their occupants in the process, in the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea. The so-called justification for this killing spree is to win, or at least make headway in, the war on drugs. But, it turns out the evidence indicates that the violence and destruction has contributed nothing to impeding the flow of verboten drugs in America.

The US Military Keeps Blowing Up Small Boats in the Caribbean and Pacific

Suppose a Latin American nation’s military kept blowing up private American small boats in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean, killing nearly all the United States citizens on them in the process. The Donald Trump administration and a horde of US Congress members would be shouting about terrorism and supporting major responsive military actions. However, the actual perpetrator of the blowing up of small boats in the Caribbean and Pacific since early September has been the US government and the victims have been mainly residents of Latin American nations, so the destruction and killing just keeps going on with little pushback from politicians in Washington, DC.
