Will Flávio Bolsonaro become the Fourth Amigo?

On Saturday, Flávio Bolsonaro officially launched his campaign to become president of Brazil. If he wins the race, Bolsonaro will succeed Brazil President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva who succeeded Bolsonaro’s father in the positiocampaignn three and a half years ago. Bolsonaro’s campaign event suggested that, should he win, he will join with the three “best buds” Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, United States President Donald Trump, and Argentina President Javier Milei who are united by devotion to the Israel government and its US-backed wars.

When Javier Milei won election to the presidency of Argentina in November of 2023, I wrote that he was acting to “move forward enthusiastically in his support of the United States government and the wars of Ukraine and Israel.” Israel, I further noted, “is a nation upon which he has heaped praise and whose new war he supports steadfastly, just as do top US political leaders.”

President Trump’s Public Bible Reading Fits In With His Support for Israel’s Wars

President Donald Trump will, via an already prepared recording, participate in the “America Reads the Bible” event scheduled to occur at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC on April 19-25. With the whole Bible to pick from for his reading, Trump chose a portion of the book of Second Chronicles that deals with King Solomon’s establishment of the “First Temple” and the potential for its later destruction.

A high-level national security official in the Trump administration resigned from his position on Tuesday. National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent cited as the reason for his resignation that he “cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran.”

Huge Protest in Israel Against Military Draft

Hundreds of thousands of “ultra-Orthodox” men protested this week in the Israel city of Jerusalem in opposition to the Israel government enforcing a military draft of members of their communities.
