Measles, Cyclospora, Hantavirus, and Ebola, Oh My!

It is like the scene in The Wizard of Oz where Dorothy, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow are fretting about the dangers of “lions and tigers and bears, oh my!” when the actual dangers they will face include, instead, a witch, flowers, and monkeys. Media have been promoting fear of a series of infections in America over the last couple years — measles, hantavirus, Ebola, and, most recently, cyclospora — though these diseases are far from the most significant threats to Americans’ health.

House Majority Leader Insists the Price of Gas is Low

In his February 24 State of the Union Speech, United States President Donald Trump claimed gas prices in America were much lower than they actually were. This was part of Trump’s effort to claim credit for an asserted vastly improved economy. Several days later, the war against Iran, which Trump started along with the Israel government, resulted in gas prices shooting up further.

Kamala Harris Sounds Like Forrest Gump’s Friend Bubba in Effort to Run Out the Clock in Difficult Interview

Kamala Harris, notorious for avoiding anything but the friendliest interviews during her truncated presidential campaign, found herself in a pickle in her Wednesday interview with Bret Baier at Fox News. Baier was asking questions Harris did not want to answer and then following up on them in response to Harris’s evasive replies. What to do? Harris decided to employ, among other strategies, one that brings to mind a scene from the movie Forrest Gump.
