It can be hard to keep up with the United States government’s sanctions imposed against countries, organizations, and individuals across the world. There are just so many sanctions against so many targets. And each year it seems that the US sanctions reach expands.

Hooray for Trump taking this stand. But, previously, Trump was a free speech and free press villain in regard to TikTok. Indeed, if Trump had stood up for First Amendment rights from the beginning instead of taking action against TikTok, the whole United State government effort to ban the social media platform may have been avoided.
Upon his inauguration as president, Donald Trump will become the leader of a United States executive branch mired in two major wars via its continuing pumping of money, weapons, and intelligence into support of the Ukraine and Israel governments. Trump has declared his opposition to the continuation of these wars. But, how can he end them?
Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is set to no longer be the leader of Senate Republicans when Donald Trump is sworn in as president next month. But, McConnell will remain in the Senate. McConnell signaled on Monday, via an editorial at Foreign Affairs, that he will be using his position in the legislative body to focus on supporting increasing both the United States government’s intervention oversees and the flow of money to the military-industrial complex.
