Mexico President Says ‘Pass’ on Coronavirus Vaccine

Mexico President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has distinguished himself among top national political leaders across the world by not freaking out over coronavirus. Instead, López Obrador has gone his own way with actions including choosing to usually not wear a mask and criticizing other nations’ political leaders for “acting like dictators” in their imposing of coronavirus-related mandates.

Now comes news of López Obrador again going directly against the worldwide coronavirus political tide. He decided not to take one of the experimental coronavirus vaccines.

Across the world, politicians are continuing and even expanding coronavirus crackdown measures including the shuttering of businesses, limiting of people’s movement, and requiring of mask wearing.

It is refreshing to see some national political leaders who have followed another course, rejecting using coronavirus as a reason for imposing a multitude of harsh restrictions on people. Mexico President Andrés Manuel López Obrador went a step further on Wednesday, calling out other national leaders for “acting like dictators” in imposing coronavirus policies that suppress liberty.

Tuesday morning, President Donald Trump, who has the unilateral power to send the United States military to bomb and invade other countries, as several of his predecessors have done, stated at Twitter that he is ready to send the US military to Mexico to defeat drug cartels.

Marijuana Legalization Countrywide in Canada, then Mexico, then the United States

A year ago this month, countrywide marijuana legalization was implemented in Canada. Also a year ago this month, the transition team of then-President-elect and current President of Mexico Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced marijuana legalization discussion was on the agenda of a trip to Canada by high-level Obrador administration members. Now, a year later, it looks like the Mexico national legislature is prepared to approve countrywide marijuana legalization soon, maybe even this month.
