Governor Thomas Massie?

A run for governor may be in the future for Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), but only if he first wins his May 19 Republican primary contest — the next step in his race for reelection to the United States House of Representatives. If Massie loses next month, the seven-term representative says he expects he will call it quits on working in government, stating he would consider the loss as “a sign from God or the people or both that I should go back to the farm.”

The New ‘Texas Antisemitism Lottery’ Should Pay Out Big in Lawsuit Awards and Settlements

The Texas Lottery has paid out many millions of dollars to winners of its games of chance since voters in the state approved its creation in 1991. This week, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced a new lottery of sorts — the “Texas Antisemitism Lottery” — that could rival and maybe even surpass the original Texas Lottery in cash payouts.

New York May Be the First to Ban Gas Stoves

On Tuesday, I wrote about the latest step being considered in the United States government’s ongoing effort to make homes more dreary. The US government has already pursued over the last few decades regulations to eliminate the sale of popular types of light bulbs, furnaces, toilets, and other items that help make a home homey. Now the Consumer Product Safety Commission is targeting gas stoves for elimination as well.

While the US government can be a big downer when it comes to restricting freedom, you can be sure that in regard to many matters there are some state governments even more eager in their quest for suppression. Seemingly attempting to demonstrate such in this instance is New York Governor Kathy Hochul. If she has her way, the New York state government may beat the US government to the punch by being the first to ban the popular stoves in America.

Chaining Down the Tyrant in the Texas Governor’s Mansion

Texas Governor Greg Abbott went into tyrant mode in 2020 on the excuse of a coronavirus “emergency.” He unilaterally imposed a plethora of mandates and new government programs. Included among Abbott’s actions that year were statewide forced closures of businesses, schools, and other places beginning in March, as well as mandated mask wearing beginning in July.

Gov. Gavin Newsom Sics California’s Medical Boards on Doctors who Challenge the Coronavirus Party Line

On September 8, I wrote about California Governor Gavin Newsom having AB 2098 — legislation that “tells the state’s medical boards to punish doctors who challenge the coronavirus orthodoxy” — on his desk for him to either veto or sign into law. The punishment the state medical boards could impose under the legislation includes revoking doctors’ medical licenses.

Here is an update. On Friday, Newsom signed into law this bill directing the prosecution of an attack on free speech, medical freedom, and the pursuit of better health.

California Bill on Governor’s Desk Puts in Jeopardy Medical Licenses of Doctors Who Do Not Toe the Line on Coronavirus

During the coronavirus scare, a small dissident group of American doctors stood up against the concerted effort of many politicians, people in the media, “public health” bureaucrats, doctors, and medical organizations to portray the coronavirus “vaccine” shots as “safe and effective” and something everyone should take.

Democratic Governors Can Oppose Vaccine Mandates Too

Some Republican governors, such as the governors of Texas and Florida, have acted in opposition to government mandates that people take experimental coronavirus “vaccine” shots. Democratic governors, in contrast, have tended to support such mandates or stand aside as they are imposed.

California Governor Mandates Experimental Coronavirus Vaccine Shots for Schoolchildren

Earlier today, I wrote that it would not be surprising if the California state government adds experimental coronavirus “vaccine” shots to the list of shots the state government mandates that schoolchildren in the state receive. Then, later today, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced in a speech that the state is taking just that step.

A State Health Department Leader Who Puts Freedom First

Over the last year and a half, many state health department leaders across America have been leading the charge against freedom. In the name of countering coronavirus, they have been demanding that businesses, churches, and community organizations shut down, and that people stay in their homes, wear masks, “social distance,” and take experimental coronavirus “vaccines.” Those demands and more make up the coronavirus crackdowns that these tyrannical bureaucrats have been pushing on Americans.

In sharp contrast with this mob of tyrannical bureaucrats, on Tuesday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis refreshingly appointed Joseph Ladapo to be the leader of the state’s health department. The new state surgeon general, in his comments at the Tuesday appointment announcement event, spoke boldly in favor of freedom and against using health fearmongering, including the overstating of dangers from coronavirus, as an excuse to violate individual rights.

Arkansas Governor Seeks Rollback of Mask Mandate Prohibition He Signed into Law Three Months Ago

For how long can you trust a politician to stick to his commitment to defend freedom? In the case of Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, it looks like three months max. After signing into law on April 29 legislation prohibiting mask mandates by state and local governments in Arkansas, Hutchinson on Thursday, July 29, declared he intends to call a special session of the state legislature, likely to occur next week, for the purpose of exempting kindergarten through 12th grade public schools from the statute’s mask mandate prohibition.
