Over the last few years there has been a movement to rid America of the sight of anything having to do with the former Confederate States of America (CSA), such as the battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia and statues of CSA military leaders. The movement has also led to the renaming of schools across America.
In recent years, schools across America, with the help of private companies, have been significantly ramping up surveillance on students, largely in the name of keeping the children safe. Now that there is big buzz about artificial intelligence, or “AI,” it should come as little surprise that peeping adults will increasingly employ AI to aid them in the surveilling of school students.
President Joe Biden declared Tuesday at Twitter: “Due to the pandemic, kids are behind in math and reading.” This is yet another example of politicians’ blame shifting we have seen throughout the coronavirus scare. Kids in America have fallen behind in their educations during the coronavirus scare, but not because of coronavirus. They have fallen behind because of coronavirus crackdown actions supported by Biden and many other politicians in the name of protecting students, teachers, and staff at schools from coronavirus that did not improve safety but did interfere with students’ ability to learn.
These kids are alright. Thinking for themselves and defying absurd and harmful rules, students across America have been challenging school mask mandates. They have protested, walked out, or just refused to comply — daring to leave their faces uncovered on school property.
Earlier today, I wrote that it would not be surprising if the California state government adds experimental coronavirus “vaccine” shots to the list of shots the state government mandates that schoolchildren in the state receive. Then, later today, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced in a speech that the state is taking just that step.
On Tuesday, the school board for San Diego Unified School District in San Diego, California, voted unanimously to impose a mandate that students 16 years old and older can participate in in-person classes and extracurricular activities only if the students receive shots of experimental coronavirus vaccines, some of which are not even vaccines under the normal meaning of the term.

But, you may have thought the libertarianish media organization with the slogan “free minds and free markets” would draw the line at posting at its website one of its senior editors endorsing government mandating people take the shots. If so, you thought wrong.
For how long can you trust a politician to stick to his commitment to defend freedom? In the case of Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, it looks like three months max. After signing into law on April 29 legislation prohibiting mask mandates by state and local governments in Arkansas, Hutchinson on Thursday, July 29, declared he intends to call a special session of the state legislature, likely to occur next week, for the purpose of exempting kindergarten through 12th grade public schools from the statute’s mask mandate prohibition.
How absurd can the coronavirus panic become? Let the New York City government school system illustrate. Despite a random testing of school system students and teachers finding only 0.18 percent testing positive for coronavirus (a miniscule amount likely even inflated with false positive results), New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is planning to use a supposed major coronavirus threat as an excuse for shutting down in-person classes throughout the New York City school system.
