US Cranking War Back Up in Somalia

President Joe Biden is cranking back up the US government’s war in Somalia. Previously, President Donald Trump brought some reprieve in US military action in the African nation. But, intervention reducing developments in US foreign policy tend to face much pressure to end.

Expanding Conscription to Women to Become Law this Year?

There has been much movement in the United States government over the last few years toward women being required, like men, to register with Selective Service and thus join the pool of individuals who could be drafted into the military. Will this be the year that women will start having the threat of being conscripted hang over their heads?

Lew Rockwell: Stop the US Government’s Murders

Lew Rockwell does not hold back in his recent interview at RT. Rockwell, who founded the Ludwig von Mises Institute and runs the website LewRockwell.com, calls out the United States government for its murdering of people around the world, both directly through means including fighting wars and indirectly through means including providing military weapons to governments including Saudi Arabia.

Military Recruiters Are More Dangerous than Coronavirus for High School Students

Many parents have been fearful that their children may be harmed or killed by coronavirus if in-person attendance at high school resumes. This fear, however, has little basis in reality. Among teenagers overall, the risk of death from coronavirus is virtually zero, and most teenagers who are infected experience no to minor symptoms.

Instead, parents would be smart to be concerned about a threat at schools that could more surely lead to their children’s death or serious injury, physical or mental. That threat is military recruiters who may be on campus selling students on joining the military.

Jimmy Dore Challenges Rep. Tulsi Gabbard Regarding Her Praising the Virtue of US Military Service

In August and November I wrote about the strangeness of United States House of Representatives member and then 2020 Democratic presidential nomination candidate Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) regularly playing up her 16-plus years and counting employment in the United States military, and other Americans’ service in the US military as well, as a virtue while she at the same time makes opposing major actions of that military, including the carrying out of certain wars, a focus of her congressional work and campaign.

The Apparent Contradiction at the Heart of Tulsi Gabbard’s Presidential Campaign

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) has presented her opposition to certain United States military interventions overseas as a major issue, and arguably as the primary issue, in her presidential campaign. Yet, there is an apparent contradiction between the way she disparages certain US military interventions overseas and the way she talks up her own past and current employment in the US military.

President Trump: Send the US Military to Fight Drug Cartels in Mexico

Tuesday morning, President Donald Trump, who has the unilateral power to send the United States military to bomb and invade other countries, as several of his predecessors have done, stated at Twitter that he is ready to send the US military to Mexico to defeat drug cartels.

Tulsi Gabbard’s Military Nonsense

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), in a Thursday interview with host Chris Cuomo at CNN, reacted to criticism from fellow Democratic presidential candidate Sen Kamala Harris (D-CA), after the candidates’ dust-up in a debate the day before, by stating, “the only response that I have heard her and her campaign give is to push out smear attacks on me, claim that I am somehow some kind of foreign agent or a traitor to my country, the country that I love, the country that I put my life on the line to serve, the country that I still serve today as a soldier in the Army National Guard.”

This statement from Gabbard is nonsense. Soldiers serving in the National Guard and other parts of the United States military in military interventions as has Gabbard are not serving their country. They are serving the exertion of power by the US government. Indeed, Gabbard in the interview expresses her opposition to the sending of the US military members “to fight in these wasteful, counterproductive regime change wars.”
