Last year, British journalist and former diplomat Craig Murray provided valuable reports from Lebanon, documenting — among other things — death and destruction brought by Israel’s military. Now, Murray is on the ground in Venezuela, doing what he did in Lebanon last year — providing access to information that tends to be filtered out or distorted in much reporting.

It is an improvement that President Donald Trump has made himself many times more available for media questions than did Trump’s predecessor Joe Biden and Trump’s November election opponent Kamala Harris who notoriously made great effort to avoid reporters’ questions. Still, it would be nice if Trump told his White House employees to knock off their use of petty rules limiting media access.

Like president, like vice president. United States President Joe Biden has been notorious since early in his presidential term for ducking press conferences, interviews, and other opportunities for journalists to ask him difficult or just unexpected questions. Now, in the third week of her presidential run, Kamala Harris is following in Biden’s course of extreme avoiding of media questioning.
Van Morrison, with some help from fellow marquee musician Eric Clapton, has used his talent as a songwriter and singer to challenge via songs coronavirus crackdowns. Now, in a new song, Morrison focuses his criticism on the media and its practice of pushing a party line to the exclusion of contrary opinions and refuting information.
The big money media that have been working for a year to stir up maximum fear of coronavirus have been taking the opposite tack regarding coronavirus vaccines. These experimental vaccines, which are not even vaccines under the normal understanding of what qualifies as a vaccine, rushed to the public without the regular testing, the big money media insist, are safe and should be taken by everyone.
Yet, even in this Pollyanna coverage of the experimental vaccines, occasionally the truth slips out.
“It’s clear that most reporters don’t like Trump — or even Republicans,” concludes John Stossel in his Wednesday article “Media Bias” at his website johnstossel.com. In the 2016 presidential election won by Trump, Stossel continues, “96 percent of journalists’ political donations” went to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton (more on that here).
