You may have heard President Donald Trump declare once or more his often repeated claim that the United States government has saved the lives of 25,000 Americans each time its military has blown up a purported drug trafficking boat over the last few months in the Caribbean and Pacific. That sounds impressive. But, as Jacob Sullum explained in a Tuesday Reason article, Trump’s numbers don’t make sense.
Last month, I wrote about how the death toll from Israel’s war in Gaza may be significantly higher than the commonly cited estimate that has lately been stuck at under 40,000 individuals. A Friday article at The Lancet medical journal makes the case that the death toll, conservatively estimated, may be more than four times higher — even if the war were to end immediately.

But, the biggest contributor to inflicting death in Gaza will likely be the Israel government causing the loss of necessities for health, including nutrition, sanitation, shelter, and medical aid. The deaths total could reach within a year up to a quarter of the Gaza population. That is around half a million people, the vast majority of whom are noncombatants.
The United States government pursued a huge crackdown and spending spree in the name of countering coronavirus. In contrast, it has been behaving blasé regarding the big rise in deaths in America since the coronavirus scare and the rollout of coronavirus “vaccine” shots. The desire seems to be to sweep under the rug this new situation, trying to neither respond to it nor even to define its cause.
A Rasmussen Reports survey of American adults conducted last week found that 28 percent of the polled individuals “personally know” someone whose death “may have been caused by side effects of COVID-19 vaccines.” These same experimental coronavirus “vaccine” shots were relentlessly proclaimed by government officials and media commentators throughout the coronavirus scare as “safe and effective” for everyone.
Two recent articles from PolitiFact, a purported fact-checking organization, suggest that the message of the organization regarding experimental coronavirus “vaccine” shots that the United States government has been pushing people to take for over a year is this: Just trust the US government claim that the shots are safe irrespective of the fact that two of the US government’s own systems for tracking health data are flashing major warning signals regarding danger from the shots.
Elle Reynolds began her Monday article at The Federalist with this observation that is sure to resonate with many people who have delved into the facts related to coronavirus and United States government-backed actions taken in the name of countering it: “The COVID bureaucracy has spent two years now preaching lies.”
But, then Reynolds throws in a new twist. It seems that Rochelle P. Walensky, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) whose apparent job description since taking on the position last January at the beginning of Joe Biden’s presidential administration included fearmongering regarding coronavirus and exaggerate the benefits of experimental coronavirus “vaccine” shots, went on a truth telling spree in regard to coronavirus over the weekend.
United States Vice President Kamala Harris gave a whopper of a speech on Thursday morning at the US Capitol concerning the one-year anniversary of January 6, 2020 protests and scuffles at the building. It was hyperbolic absurdity from the beginning of Harris’s speech when she grouped the date January 6, 2020 with December 7, 1941, when Pearl Harbor was attacked, and September 11, 2001.
