The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) took a significant step in reducing the scope and harm of the US government’s war on marijuana when they jointly announced in April the immediate easing of some aspects of marijuana prohibition under US law. The changes include the moving of marijuana regulated under a state medical marijuana license from the most restrictive Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act to the less restrictive Schedule III of the act.

The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) was patting itself on the back with gusto last week in publicizing it is prosecuting alleged drug kingpin Zhi Dong Zhang upon his extradition from Mexico. The prosecution is a really big deal in the US government’s effort to win the war on drugs according to the assertions of several government employees in the DOJ press release.
Gun Rights Are People’s Rights
“Take the guns first; go through due process second,” recommended Donald Trump in a meeting with Congress members during his first term as president. Through this comment offered in support of imposing rights-trampling “red flag” laws to deprive people of their guns, Trump displayed disdain for the right to bear arms and the right to due process, both protected in the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution.
Earlier today I wrote about the United States Department of Justice under the Donald Trump administration continuing the prosecution of Dr. Michael Kirk Moore, Jr. because of actions he was accused of taking to protect patients from the dangers of coronavirus “vaccine” shots and the crackdown on people who refused to take them. The trial of Moore and another individual began this week, two and a half years after they had been charged during the Joe Biden administration.

In January of 2023, the United States government’s coronavirus crackdown set its sights on the medical practice of Dr. Michael Kirk Moore, Jr., with the US Department of Justice charging him and three other individuals with crimes stemming from the allegation that the charged individuals helped people who chose to not receive coronavirus “vaccine” shots for themselves or their children obtain cards indicating shots were received.
