Interviewed Wednesday at RT, foreign nonintervention advocate and former presidential candidate Ron Paul said that “we’re hearing the same type of war propaganda” in regard to North Korea as Paul recalls hearing as a United States House of Representatives member in regard to Iraq in the run-up to the 2003 US invasion of Iraq. Who benefits from the lies? Paul points to “the people who make a lot of money off of war, not only the people who sell weapons but also the people who gather up the oil and the natural resources.”

In addition to war propaganda, Paul says he is concerned about a “false flag” incident precipitating war between the US and North Korea. “What I worry about is a false flag,” Paul says in the interview. “We have our ships over there, and we have these military exercises, and all they have to do is have one American ship shot at and sunk or something, and then it would be all-out war — and never ask [the] question, ‘Who did what?’” Paul explains.

Speaking last week at the Ludwig von Mises Institute’s annual Mises University, Andrew Napolitano presented a captivating speech regarding legal issues, including an examination of natural law and positivism.

In the speech, Napolitano, who is the senior judicial analyst at Fox News and a former New Jersey judge, points to the importance of a central concept in natural law that “our rights come from our humanity.” “Now this is not just an academic argument,” Napolitano emphasizes, “because if our rights come from our humanity then they didn’t come from the government and the government can’t take them away.”

While natural law may be seen as the hero standing up for individuals against oppressive government, Napolitano also presents in his speech a villain: positivism. “Positivism teaches that the law is whatever the lawgiver says it is, and, so long as it is articulated, so long as it is written down, so long as it is ratified, then it is the law — no matter who the lawgiver is,” explains Napolitano.

Sometimes, nonintervention advocate and former United States presidential candidate Ron Paul is given an opportunity in an interview to address in detail his view on US foreign policy and interventions abroad, from the Korean and Vietnam Wars decades back to the ongoing US intervention in Syria and the potential US military attack on North Korea. Such is the case in a new 28-minute interview with radio host Lars Larson on the Lars Larson Show.

In the interview, Larson expresses disagreement with Paul on some matters discussed, but Larson also affords Paul time to speak in detail, leading to much opportunity to learn from one of America’s greatest educators regarding nonintervention.

Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte illustrated on Friday the wisdom of the aphorism that “people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.”

Reuters reports that Duterte said that America is “lousy,” that he would never again visit America, and that “it would be good for the US Congress to start with their own investigation of their own violations of the so many civilians killed in the prosecution of the wars in the Middle East.” Duterte made his comments in reaction to United States House of Representatives Member James McGovern (D-MA) stating opposition to Duterte, who has garnered much attention due to the many killings in the name of the war on drugs he is pursuing in the Philippines, coming to America to meet with President Donald Trump.
