This week, Fox News Senior Judicial Analyst Andrew Napolitano presented a keen recommendation for President Donald Trump in regard to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) potentially talking with Trump as part of the so-called Russiagate investigation.
Speaking with host Kennedy at Fox Business, Napolitano offered this advice to the president: Do not agree to be interviewed by the FBI. Elaborating, Napolitano, who is a Ron Paul Institute Advisory Board member and a former New Jersey state judge, explains that his advice is based on general principles that apply far beyond Trump and the circumstances of the particular investigation. “No serious criminal defense lawyer,” says Napolitano, “would ever, ever, ever — you put as many ‘evers’ in there as you want — let his client be interviewed by the people that are prosecuting him.”
Returning to a potential Trump FBI interview, Napolitano continues that he would advise Trump that “these guys are the best questioners in the world, and they are looking to set a trap for you as they did with” former Trump associates Michael Flynn and George Papadopoulos who have found themselves in legal trouble related to alleged misstatements while talking with FBI agents.
