Dennis Kucinich: To Diminish Terrorism, Stop Funding It and Stop Bombing Countries

Interviewed last week at the Democratic National Convention, two-time Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich offered a succinct explanation of what the United States government can do to diminish terrorism. “If we want to diminish terrorism in the world, stop funding it,” says Kucinich in the interview with Nicholas Ballasy.

Kucinich elaborates:

Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, and the United States and other countries have unfortunately been responsible for foreign policy choices that have put this country at risk. Stop funding people who are going on jihad.

Kucinich, who is a member of the Ron Paul Institute Advisory Board, also explains in the interview that US intervention, particularly in Iraq, Libya, and in Syria, can lead to blowback. If you bomb other countries, concludes Kucinich, you should expect people will “find a way to get back at you.”
