See Ron Paul Speak at the Upcoming ‘Censorship and Official Lies’ Conference

Tickets are now available for the “Censorship and Official Lies: The End of Truth in America?” conference. The Saturday, April 13 event in Angleton, Texas is cosponsored by the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity (RPI) and the Ludwig von Mises Institute. It will feature speeches by RPI Chairman Ron Paul and Executive Director Daniel McAdams as well as individuals from the Mises Institute.

The Mises Institute’s New Animated Series, ‘America: From Republic to Empire’

In 2020, the Ludwig von Mises Institute posted at its website an animated series titled “Economics for Beginners” that provides an informative and engaging introduction to economics. While the presentation is good for anyone interested in an introduction to the topic, it seems especially well suited for youngsters.

Now, the Mises Institute has posted the first episode of a new animated series titled “America: From Republic to Empire.” The new series, as the name indicates, promises to provide an introduction to the development of the United States into an empire.

This Week, ‘Professor’ Daniel McAdams at Mises University

Sunday afternoon, the Mises Institute’s week-long education event Mises University kicks off. And, on Saturday, the final day of the event, Ron Paul Institute (RPI) Executive Director Daniel McAdams will be the event’s penultimate speaker, presenting a lecture titled “Foreign Policy is Welfare for the Rich.”

Ron Paul, Featured Speaker at November Event

The Ludwig von Mises Institute is putting on an event on November 7 in Angleton, Texas at which prominent libertarian communicator Ron Paul will be the featured speaker. The event, titled Symposium with Ron Paul, is hosted by Lew Rockwell and Jeff Deist of the Mises Institute. Daniel McAdams, the executive director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity, will also speak at the event.

A Sheriff Says He Has Limits with Enforcing the Coronavirus Crackdown

Reading Ludwig von Mises Institute President Jeff Deist’s Monday article “All Crises are Local,” I was struck by a mention that “some sheriffs too have stood bravely against impositions of soft martial law” in the name of countering coronavirus.

The link in that passage from Deist’s article is to a Megan Fox article at PJ Media concerning Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols announcing his decision to exercise restraint regarding enforcement of Maine Governor Janet T. Mills’ order, purportedly to fight coronavirus, imposing limitations on the exercise of individual rights.

Lew Rockwell Q and A: Optimism, Murray Rothbard, and the Mises Institute

Before a packed house at the Ludwig von Mises Institute’s Mises University on Thursday, Mises Institute founder Lew Rockwell addressed an array of topics. On stage, Mark Thornton presented Rockwell with questions provided by attendees. Among the matters discussed during the Q and A, Rockwell explains why he believes there is reason for optimism in both the long term and the short term, discusses his time with the late influential libertarian writer Murray Rothbard who Rockwell says he still misses every day, and recounts some of the story of the early years of the Mises Institute.
