In August, Tucker Carlson declared at his Fox News show that it would be an act of war on the United States for the Mexico government to cease engaging in a war on heroin. Carlson even supported his wacky conclusion by pointing to drug overdose deaths in America, despite those deaths in fact being multiplied because of the US war on drugs. On Wednesday, Carlson was back at his show spouting drug war nonsense — this time expressing his dread of marijuana legalization that kicked in this week countrywide in Canada potentially spreading throughout America.
One of the quirky news stories of Ron Paul’s 2012 presidential campaign was the support Paul received from Nevada brothel owner Dennis Hof and some of Hof’s employees. In Nevada, brothels may be legally operated in several counties.
Hof since entered elective politics himself, in June defeating an incumbent in a Republican primary race for the Nevada state Assembly.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has long been among the most vehement advocates of foreign intervention in the United States Senate, supporting US interventions for “regime changes” across the world. Now Saudi Arabia has joined the list of countries where Graham has demanded regime change. Interviewed Tuesday morning at the Fox News show Fox & Friends, Graham declared that Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman “has got to go.”
While proclaiming in the interview that he has been Saudi Arabia’s “biggest defender on the floor of the United States Senate,” Graham says that bin Salman is “toxic” and a “wrecking ball” and had Jamal Khashoggi “murdered in a consulate in Turkey” earlier this month. So long as bin Salman is in charge in Saudi Arabia, Graham promises to refuse or “do business with” or visit Saudi Arabia. Graham also says in the interview that he will be pushing to “sanction the hell out of Saudi Arabia.”

Loyola University Economics Professor Walter Block starts off his Tuesday article at lewrockwell.com stating it has come to his attention “that many Loyola students will not enroll in my classes, will boycott my public lectures, will have nothing to do with me, because they think I favor slavery and am a racist and a sexist.” Block then proceeds to refute each of the assertions put forward to urge students to boycott him.
Attendees at the Ludwig von Mises Institute’s Supporters Summit at the institute’s Auburn, Alabama headquarters were treated on September 28 to a wide-ranging question and answer period with premier libertarian communicators Ron Paul and Lew Rockwell. United States foreign policy, the war on drugs, tariffs, and concerns about social media companies are among the topics Paul and Rockwell discuss in the Q&A.

On August 15, I wrote about John Miska having been arrested the previous weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia for buying some drinks and common household items in defiance of draconian restrictions imposed in the city over the weekend. Here is an update with good news: A local trial court has dismissed the prosecution of Miska.
A peace deal will not be concluded among the United States, North Korea, and South Korea in the next three to five years predicts Lawrence Wilkerson, a College of William & Mary professor and the former chief of staff for Secretary of State Colin Powell, in a recent interview with host Aaron Maté at The Real News.
Wilkerson points to “irreconcilable elements” as supporting his conclusion. These irreconcilable elements, says Wilkerson, are “China’s interest in not having a unified Korea with US presence still there, the North’s interest in not surrendering all of its nuclear weapons capability, the South’s interest ultimately in — if it is a unified peninsula — having those nuclear weapons itself, and, ultimately, both Koreas — were they to be united — wanting themselves to kick the United States presence off the peninsula.”
